AWI invites woolgrowers to join the conversation

Woolgrowers across Tasmania are invited to join the conversation at an upcoming forum to discuss AWI’s ongoing investment in research, development and marketing and to hear a market update from CEO Stuart McCullough.

AWI CEO Stuart McCullough said the local event in Campbell Town had been designed to provide woolgrowers with an update on AWI’s and its marketing arm, The Woolmark Company’s, ongoing investment in research, development and marketing, to discuss current activities and answer questions about the company’s performance, WoolPoll and how the wool levy is working for growers.

“Consulting with woolgrowers is of critical importance to AWI and for this reason the Campbell Town event is the first in a series of forums scheduled in the coming weeks," Mr McCullough outlined.

“The session is designed with ample free discussion time because we believe it is important for woolgrowers to have the opportunity to ask questions about their company, its performance, the WoolPoll options and the AWI Board's levy option preference.

"It is an exciting time for the industry. I am very proud of what we have been able to achieve during the past three years and I look forward to discussing the future of AWI.”

The announcement of the event comes as Voter Information Packs are posted to all eligible levy payers, detailing the process and investment levels under every proposed levy rate.

Voting in WoolPoll 2018 opens on Monday 17 September and closes Friday 2 November.

"We encourage all woolgrowers to get involved and to join the conversation about the status and future of their industry,” Mr McCullough added.

Time: 10:00am – 1:00pm (Lunch will be provided)
Location: The Grange Function Centre, 4 Commonwealth Lane, Campbell Town
