Australian Wool Innovation Ltd

Owned by more than 19,000 Australian woolgrowers, Australian Wool Innovation Ltd (AWI) is a not-for-profit company that invests in R&D and marketing along the global supply chain for Australian wool – from woolgrowers through to retailers. It is the prescribed body for receipt of levy funds from Australian woolgrowers and also matching R&D funds from the Australian government. It is not a political representative body for wool growers.

The company’s mission is to make strategically targeted investments to:

  • Enhance the profitability, international competitiveness and sustainability of the Australian wool industry.
  • Increase demand and market access for Australian wool.

AWI is the owner of The Woolmark Company and the world-renowned Woolmark logo – the world’s best known textile fibre brand – which has been applied to more than five billion products since its creation in 1964.

The Position

AWI is seeking suitably qualified persons to become eligible for election as a Non-Executive Director on the AWI Board in the 2023 director election.

About You

To be successful you will have a number of the following experiences and expertise:

  • International commercial finance/CFO experience.
  • Global supply chain experience including marketing and/or digital transformation.
  • Interest in the agricultural sector.
  • Board experience is highly regarded as is understanding of governance and board decision-making processes.
