AWI Chairman Mr Jock Laurie welcomed Georgia Hack to the board.

“Her marketing experience with major retailer David Jones will complement her fellow directors and I look forward to working with her on behalf of Australian woolgrowers.”

Speaking at the AGM Mr Laurie said the clear result in this year’s WoolPoll will provide real clarity around budgeting.

“Woolgrowers have had their say. They are prepared to pay 1.5%. The company and the new board going forward sit down and do their budgets and they will manage that money appropriately, invested on (shareholders) behalf and make sure the company stays very solid and solvent”.
